a year? try 9 months! i can't believe how dramatically things can change in short amounts of time!
buddhists believe that change is constant and that it is attachment to things that leads to unhappiness. there is the idea that whatever "this" is, "this too shall pass". that applies equally to good and bad times. so, just as things can change dramatically from bad to good, the reverse is also true. that kind of thought makes me appreciate the good points in my life and makes me realize that bad points don't last forever.
this too will pass. so just appreciate 'this' for all that it is : )
